Okay...I need help!

So in fall this year I will be turning 29, and so will my friend D. Anyways we have decided that we need to do something...fun, different, monumental....anything to celebrate this monumental birthday...it'll be our last year in our 20's!

For birthdays we have always done dinner and a movie. Now we want to do something different.

Thing is...trying to think up stuff we could do...I have no idea.

Now, nothing too extravagent...like go to Europe....we want to do that but not that much money and time away from work available for either of us.

But still something....good.

D mentioned off the top of her head a spa weekend...like literally at a spa. I was thinking...sky diving. :) Haven't mentioned that one to D yet but if I remember correctly that's something she said she'd be happy never doing. :)

So the help I need is suggestions. Any? Please?! Pretty please!?

What could 2 single women do that would be fun and we'd definately remember for awhile? Without necessarily having to leave the state....or you know...fly anywhere. (Low fundage remember? Well, we at least not want to go into large debt to do whatever...we willing to spend money just not as much as a trip somewhere would cost.)

Please comment with suggestions...even expensive if you must...just so we can get some ideas to bounce around. THANKS TONS FOR ANY HELP!!!!

My vote would probably be for the spa weekend. Jumping out of planes just isn't for me.

You know, in the blogging world I keep coming across people that are making fun little lists--things like "30 things before 30." I've seen people's lists include things like "learn to knit," "call the ex-boyfriend," "go to a country where you don't speak the language," "play a slot machine," "lose 30 pounds," "host a fancy party," "learn how to make a great cheesecake," "play hooky and do something fun," "eat something exotic," etc.

How about making a list like that and then kicking it off by knocking off one thing (even if it is sky diving--yechhhhh....)

I saw this on a blog once and LOVED the idea. For her 30th this girl rented out a movie theater, got a red carpet, and had her friends dress up like they were going to the emmys. (sp?) She had previously had a contest for her friends where they submitted short films and they all watched them at the theater. She did cheap theater candy and pop corn for the food.

So that is my tidbit of inspiration for your b-day.

Wow skydive!!! I'll be turning 29 this fall too. Ho hum.... I don't want to get older.

How about a spa retreat AND skydiving :) The Elms spa and resort in Excelsior springs, mo has a skydiving package...

Skydiving for two at Missouri River Valley Skydiving which includes instructional class and first jump. Then relax after your jump with a 50-minute couples massage. Includes a deluxe guestroom.

Spa sounds good. And the movie thing too. Could you do anything at bush stadeum? Like rent a box for you and some friends for a Cards' game?
